Ananthapuram Co Operative Society

Milestone of Legacy

The rich legacy of the Ananthapuram Co-operative Society is evident in its long and storied history. Founded on January 23, 1961, as the ‘Punnapuram Vividhodhyesha Sahakarana Sangam’ in Vanchiyur village, this venture has undergone remarkable transformations over the years. In 1977, it adopted the name Punnapuram Sahakarana Sangam, a reflection of its growing influence within the locality.

Initially operating out of a car shed on Otukal Street, the society’s maiden ventures encompassed a firewood shop and a 500 rupee chit. In 1989, there was a historic shift that amplified society’s role in the collective pursuit of progress and unity, reflecting its commitment to being a driving force for societal upliftment. The society’s evolution continued in 1991, when it rebranded as the ‘Ananthapuram Co-operative Society‘, signalling its broader aspirations and commitment to community welfare. The pinnacle of the journey arrived in 2004, with the grand inauguration of the multi-story headquarters. The remarkable event encapsulated the society’s towering growth and influence.

Today, the Ananthapuram Co-operative Society stands tall as a testament to the power of collaboration, perseverance, and community spirit. With each passing year, its legacy continues to shine, illuminating a path of empowerment, prosperity, and shared dreams.
